Presenting... MICHELLE ELOISE NORMAN
Name: Michelle Norman
Nickname(s): Shelly, Mishy
Age: 14
Birthday: March 23
Height: 5’0
Weight: 112 pounds
Year Of School: Freshmen
Hometown: Sacramento, California
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Appearance(Picture):
Mother: Gina Norman
Age: 36
Relationship: She’s very grateful to have been adopted by the Norman family, but that’s not the main reason she’s so close to her mother. She feels like she can tell her mom anything without being judged. She hardly ever fights with her mom and her mom accepts her quirkiness.
Father: Julian Norman
Age: 36
Relationship: She’s not as close to Julian. To her, he’s like a big teddy bear that she can climb up on or play with. Usually she doesn’t share her problems with him. She just likes to have a fun time with him.
Sibling(s): Miri, Tommy, Louis, and Elise
Age(s):18, 16, 15, and 8 (respectively)
Relationship(s):
Miri: She doesn’t get along well with Miri at all. Sometimes they’re tolerant of each other but usually they just end up fighting with each other over stolen clothes or whatever.
Tommy: She’s definitely closest to Tommy out of all her siblings. He’s protective of her, but they can still have an awesome time together. They get into a lot of mischief because they’re both evil geniuses.
Louis: Michelle and Louis have an odd relationship. They can relate to each other because they’re both adopted, but sometimes they don’t speak to each other for long periods of time – especially when Miri and Tommy are fighting. Louis always takes Miri’s side and Michelle takes Tommy’s.
Elise: Michelle loves Elise and thinks she’s really cute. She was afraid, at first, that since Elise is one of Gina and Julian’s biological children, that she and Louis wouldn’t be wanted anymore. Now they get along pretty well, and Michelle often baby-sits Elise.
Personality (in 3-4 sentences): Michelle has a very unique personality because she doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her, and she always speaks her mind. She gets mad if someone tries to take away her creativity. She tries to express herself in a way that no one else expresses themselves, and she’s definitely not into labels.
History (in 3-4 sentences): She was adopted by the Norman family from China when she was a little baby. She was always the “baby” of the house until Elise came along. For a while she was scared that Gina and Julian were going to neglect her because they were able to have one more biological child, but she quickly learned that they still loved her just as much. She’s always been the oddball in school and in her house, and she’s never had a boyfriend.

Roleplay Samples (3 or 4 Paragraphs):
#1:
Gina walked down the hall with Julian and Miri feeling great. She’d finally lost all her baby weight. This was a big step for her. She didn’t have much to lose since she’d had Miri before the due date, but it still felt amazing.
She was pushing Miri’s stroller and Julian while Julian was carrying their backpacks. They’d gotten this transferring from home to school down to a science.
They stopped in front of Gina’s locker, and Julian started to put her things away for her.
“Okay so today you’ve got History first period and then Math and then we’ve got third period together – Parenting 101. You can use that as nap time—”
“For me or Miri?” Gina asked with a smile, sitting down on her knees and giving Miri her favorite stuffed Bunny with the wet ear. Miri always put it in her mouth.
“Both of you,” Julian said, grinning back. “You’re already the best parent.”
Gina couldn’t say anything. As many times as he told her that, it always choked her up. She tickled Miri’s foot.
“And then AP Bio, and then lunch. We’re still sitting together?” Julian asked.
“No,” Gina said sarcastically. “We never sit together.”
He smiled. “Awesome. And then fifth through eighth period we’ve got together, and then we get to go home.”
“School days always feel so long,” Gina said, as Julian shut her locker, and they proceeded onto his.
“Tell me about it,” he said, opening his and stuffing his things messily inside. He kept Gina’s books organized but not his own, which seemed a bit odd to Gina, but she didn’t say anything. She didn’t want him to get defensive or hurt his feelings.
Julian turned and faced Gina and Miri with a sad smile. Gina picked Miri up and faced him too.
“You don’t know how much I miss you guys during the day,” he said.
“We miss you too,” Gina said with concerned eyes.
Julian hugged them.
Gina remembered the first day they’d walked into their parental therapy when she was pregnant. It was all girls and one other guy. Everyone stared at them and the guy said.
“Ah, so Mommy dumped Baby off on you too?”
“Huh?” Julian asked, looking confused.
“Your kid,” the boy repeated. “You have to take care of it while Mom runs off and parties it up with her friends?”
“No,” Gina said, linking her arm through Julian’s. “We’re together.”
Then, they’d really gotten stares.
“Seriously? He’s the dad?” one of the girls asked.
Gina nodded.
“Well, eff you for taking the last good one,” another girl said. Then, there were a few chuckles and Gina and Julian exchanged knowing glances.
The girl hadn’t actually said ‘eff,’ but Gina had trained herself to stop even thinking bad words. She didn’t want Miri picking any of them up early.
Lots of times she felt like she’d gotten the ‘last good one.’ But she could see by looking around the school that there were plenty of devoted fathers, husbands, and boyfriends.
#2:
“Oh... my... god,” Mitchell breathed, quickly snatching the Legos up from in front of Jacob, before he could stick his fat fist in there and put them in his mouth. He stared at Kaidyn. “These—” he jabbed a finger at the Legos “—are a choking hazard. Imagine if he put one in his mouth! You wanna pull the thing out of his throat?”
Gina winced and closed her eyes. At least the toy cars were too big to even fit in Tommy’s tiny mouth... even though he was looking at them with a hungry look in his eyes.
Mitchell sat down on the couch with a huff. He watched Jacob toddle over and begin to play with Tommy and the toy cars. Those two did everything together. They were pretty good sharers too.
Miri plopped down in front of the oven, as Gina stared nervously at it.
“Sweetie, you’ve gotta tell me before you use it, okay? I don’t want you to burn yourself.”
Miri frowned and stared up at Gina. “Can it make donuts?” she asked. Miri absolutely loved donuts... but only the plain kind with chocolate frosting.
“Maybe,” Gina said with a smile. “We’ll have to look at the directions. Maybe we can do that later. Otherwise, I think we might just have to go out to the store and buy some?”
Miri’s face lit up. “Yeah!” she exclaimed. “I want two hundred!”
Gina laughed. “Yeah, me too.”
She glanced over at Kaidyn out of the corner of her eye, wondering if she knew how little the kids actually were. The three younger ones could hardly talk – let alone play with fancy toys. Genny seemed to be enjoying her doll though. She was rocking it back and forth in her arms, talking to it in soft whispers as if it was her baby.
“The doll’s really, really cute,” Gina said to Kaidyn with her best well-aren’t-you-clever smile.
Genny looked up at Gina and Kaidyn. “Shesmybaby,” Genny said all in one quick breath.
Mitchell looked at Gina and smiled. Whenever Miri or Tommy did something amazing, Gina and Julian always gave each other these... these... looks. Mitchell didn’t have anyone to share the look with, so he usually looked at Gina. She was basically their mother... Maybe Jacob and Genny thought she was. Except they called her AUNT Gina, not Mommy.
#3:
Owen was thinking about Edie again. He’d been thinking about her a lot since they’d started going out. He usually thought about how beautiful she was and how much she’d like his muscles once he was done lifting weights. That’s what he did every morning – lifting weights. He had to be strong for the football team, and he had to have something to show off to all of his girl-fans. He thought about how possibly every girl at that school was madly in love with him. Why wouldn’t they be? He was gorgeous… even more gorgeous in his opinion than that Mitchell kid. Girls liked him, but mainly only the younger ones… right? He was a man, Mitchell was a boy, right? Mitchell wasn’t any competition.
Owen decided to do another three sets just to make absolutely sure.
There was probably only one other person thinking that, and her name was Sadie Meester. Her new obsession was Owen Yates, and she was determined to get to him. She didn’t care that she was a freshmen and he was a senior. Lots of people thought she was just a big slut, that she’d sleep with any guy. But truthfully, she’d only ever slept with one guy one time. It wasn’t even as fun as she’d expected, well actually she didn’t remember much about it. She was kind of drunk… okay, really drunk, but that’s beside the point.
And so because of the rumors about her, no one really wanted to be her friend. They also said she was a druggie, which she wasn’t. Not at all.
Someone else who everyone seemed to think was a druggie was Cayden Pierce. He was a loner, like Sadie. But it wasn’t people that stayed away from him, it was him that stayed away from people. He hated everyone except his little sister, Cera. That was only some of the time.
She was twelve years old and had lots of nightmares, so she came in and slept with Cayden a lot. Like this morning. She rolled over and gave him an accidental whack right across the face.
Way to wake up on a Monday…
“Aw, Cera,” Cayden moaned. “C’mon. At least don’t get all violent on me.” He was only ever a normal human being around her. Around everyone else, he was so withdrawn he couldn’t even talk to anyone.
